First Lady, Lordina Mahama, has been enstooled as development queen (Nkosuohemaa), with the stool name Nana Sarpomaa I, by the chiefs and elders of Bodom in Nkoranzaman.
At Ampoma, also in Nkoranzaman, she was conferred with the stool name Nana Fremaa I, for bringing development to the area.
The projects, the chiefs stated, include schools, health post, road construction, provision of lights and portable drinking water.
In a speech before the enstoolment, the chief of Bodom, Nana Oppong Kyekyeku expressed his gratitude to the First Lady, also a native of Bodom, for bringing development projects to help her people.
He said Mrs Mahama is an inspiration and a source of pride for the people of Bodom.
He observed that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government has not reneged on its promises and urged the people to vote for President Mahama to ensure that Madam Lordina, their daughter, "will continue to be First Lady."
The Chief of Ampoma, Nana Nyarko Kata, commended Mrs Mahama and the NDC for fulfilling all the promises made to the people during the 2008 elections campaign. He declared his support and that of his people to ensure "one touch" victory for President Mahana and the NDC.
The First Lady, on her part, said she was overwhelmed by the love shown by the people. According to her, the massive turn-out to welcome her was indicative of victory for the NDC in the December elections.
She promised to bring more development projects to the area to help improve their living conditions if the NDC retains power after the December 7 elections. She reminded them that the only way to win the elections is for the people to turn out massively to vote for President Mahama and the NDC.
She thanked them for their continuous support.
