The Federation of Muslim Women's Association of Ghana (FOMWAG) Ashanti Regional chapter has taken the initiative to empower young minds through a comprehensive three-day mentorship camp.
The program aimed to build capacity in youth leadership and community involvement, promoting personal growth and collective impact.
Selected participants underwent an intensive three-day training, focusing on leadership development to empower them to tackle local issues.
“Empowering Tomorrow’s Leader: Active Citizenship and Personal Growth”, was the theme for the mentorship camp.
The FOMWAG Ashanti-led initiative, funded by the Hewlett Foundation and implemented with Star Ghana Foundation, aimed to equip students with community service skills.

Project Lead, Ms. Sharifa Abdul-Rahman, emphasized empowering students to contribute to community development.
Ms. Abdul-Rahman emphasized that inviting experts and accomplished individuals to share their experiences would significantly impact the participants' views on personal and community growth.
She observed that the participants demonstrated promising leadership qualities through their engaging discussions and encouraged them to apply these skills in their communities.
By exposing participants to accomplished personalities, Ms. Abdul-Rahman believed it would inspire a shift in perspective, fostering personal and community development.
“We want to see how they are going to give back to their communities by helping address the challenges within their communities,” she stated.
Beneficiaries of the program commended the organizers, citing enhanced confidence and a renewed commitment to addressing community challenges.
