The West Akyem Municipal Assembly has decided to ask the former Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Mr Kwabena Sintim-Aboagye, to refund an amount of GH¢ 2,836.
The amount was said to have been paid to him following a tour of Sweden that had no approval from the assembly.
The assembly came to the decision after the current Municipal Chief Executive, Mr Seth Otchere, had delivered a report of the executive committee to the general meeting of the assembly at Asamankese on Thursday.
The report said during his tenure of office Mr Sintim-Aboagye went on a business tour of Sweden without approval from the assembly.
On his return he submitted an amount of GH¢ 2,836 to be refunded to him and that was paid.
The report said during the last audit inspection the audit team requested the assembly to give retrospective approval for the money or ask the former MCE to refund it.
After the assembly had discussed the issue, it came to the conclusion in a motion to ask Mr Sintim-Aboagye to refund the money.
