Four people have been injured following a collision between a taxi and a truck at Kotokuraba in Cape Coast in the Central Region.

The accident occurred on March 11, 2026, involving a Toyota Echo taxi with registration number GW 5934-14 and a Sumsung Yamouzine truck with registration number CR 487-18.

Personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) at the Cape Coast Metropolitan Fire Station responded to the emergency after receiving a distress call at about 10:28am.
The rescue team arrived at the scene at approximately 10:32am and found four injured victims—three males and one female.

The injured persons were transported to the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital and Ewim Polyclinic for medical treatment.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the crash may have been caused by brake failure on the part of the truck.

The impact of the collision left the taxi extensively damaged, while the truck sustained partial damage to its engine.
Fire officers also cleared debris from the road and moved the damaged vehicles to the side to allow for the smooth flow of traffic.

The Ghana National Fire Service said it remains committed to promoting safety awareness and responding promptly to emergencies across the region.
The details were shared in a Facebook post by the Central Regional Public Relations Office of the Service.
