Works on the Geese Park, the lush green field between the Castle Drive and the Marine Drive, which has been earmarked to be the burial site for the late President Mills, is nearing completion. The Geese Park has also been proposed to be the final resting place for heads of state who would like to be buried there.Speaking to Joy FM’s Jefferson Sackey ahead of Friday’s burial of the late president, a member of the Funeral Planning Committee, Nana Ato Dadzie said that while the place might not be furnished with all the niceties that it is expected, the late President would be given a decent and presentable burial.According to Nana Ato Dadzie, under the supervision of Dr. Don Arthur, a world renowned architect, final works on the Geese Park would be completed by close of Thursday.Nana Ato Dazie stated that the place is large enough to receive the visiting heads of state and other dignitaries that would make it to the grave on Friday. He refused to disclose details of the intricate architectural designs of the burial place, saying the Committee preferred to keep that as a surprise package for mourners. The body of the late President has been laid in state since Wednesday at the Banquet Hall of the State House. The final funeral rites will be held Friday at the Independence Square.
