Ghana Standards Authority (GSA) and Corporate Social Responsibility Foundation (CSRF) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to establish collaboration between them. The agreement, signed in Accra, is meant to raise public awareness of the importance of Corporate Social Responsibility.
Mr. Joseph Emmanuel Allotey-Pappoe, Chairman of CSR, said the agreement will underline the benefits of CSR to all stakeholders -- the State, employers, trade unions and non-governmental organisations (NGOs), and civil society as a whole.
He expressed appreciation to the management of GSA and hoped the agreement will strengthen the relationship between them to create awareness among Ghanaian businesses about CSR in Ghana.
Dr. George Ben Crentsil, Acting Director of GSA, said the joint agreement will encourage more companies to voluntarily implement the requirements of international corporate standards and social responsibility specifications.
CSR Foundation, with a vision to create a society of CSR-committed and compliant corporate citizens and individuals, is to advocate for CSR and CSR-related activities in the country.
