Abdul Baba Rahman made his first start for his Augsburg side after his return from injury that kept him out of the senior national team of Ghana during the last international break.
The Black Stars full back returned to his Augsburg side last week as a substitute but was given a starting role on Saturday when his German Bundesliga side made a trip to Paderborn.
Augsburg however lost the game by two goals to nil away from home, with Baba Rahman playing in the entire duration of the game for Augsburg.
Kevin-Prince Boateng was not involved in the German Bundesliga game for his Schalke 04 side against Freiburg on Saturday.
Schalke played a goalless draw at home with Freiburg.
In the English Championship Albert Adomah and his Middlesbrough side are still paying for their inability to beat Watford away from home.
Middlesbrough who rose to top the English Championship last weekend are currently lying in fourth position despite recovering from the defeat against Watford to record a 2-0 home victory against Rotherham United.

And he was his usual combative self immediately, which resulted in him picking up what has become a customary yellow card, just three minutes after coming on.
Goals were scored by Javier Hernandez, Cristiano Ronaldo and Jese. Eibar remain in 14th place after the loss, four points behind Getafe.
Mubarak Wakaso missed the away game for Celtic against Inverness in the Scottish Premier League.
The game ended with one goal apiece for both clubs.
