Kofi Adams, spokesman to former President Jerry John Rawlings, has predicted a one touch victory for President John Mahama in the upcoming general election.
He said God has already ordained Mahama as winner of the December polls and that the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) would therefore not resort to illegal means to win the elections.
Kofi Adams’s comment comes on the back of allegations that the ruling party is plotting the rig the elections to retain power.
The opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) claims it has cited a document dubbed Agenda 2012 that outlines the NDC's plans to disrupt voting in NPP strongholds.
The NPP alleges that the governing party intends to cut off power supplies in its strongholds in order to facilitate poll rigging.
Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Thursday, Adams described the NPP’s claim as the cry of “a desperate loser.”
He said that the NPP is grasping at straws because they face an inevitable defeat and that they have the tendency to create insecurity in the country, but he assured Ghanaians that under Mahama, the election will be free, fair, safe, and transparent.
He asked party supporters to eschew violence and emulate the demeanor of the President by vigorously promoting the NDC so that it might remain in power and further advance the Better Ghana Agenda.
Adams appeared convinced that given the unprecedented achievements by this regime in its first term coupled with its appealing policy proposals in all sectors of the economy, a one touch victory is imminent.
Kofi Adams urged Ghanaians to commit themselves to prayer and conduct themselves peacefully.
