The Chairman of the National Premix Fuel Committee, Kwaku Nicole says victims of the recent fuel tanker explosion at Axim may not receive any compensation.
Nineteen persons have so far died from the incident which occurred about two weeks ago.
The explosion is believed to have been caused by a generator which was being used to provide power for the distribution of pre-mix due to power outage.
Two of the victims are still in critical condition at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.
Mr. Nicole says the incident was purely an accident and victims may not be compensated as the government had no role in the incident.
Meanwhile the Director of the Reconstructive Plastic Surgery and Burns Centre, Korle-Bu, Dr. Opoku Ware Ampomah, tells Joy News even though government has assured of paying their bills, family members at the Hospital may need some extra support.
