The Ministry of Agriculture has finally made payments for the usage of hotels and guest houses in Agona Swedru in the Central region where last year's national Farmers’ Day celebration was held. The action follows Adom News’ report last Friday that payments were yet to be made nearly two months after the 27th National Farmers Day celebrations. Earlier, proprietor of the Home Touch Guest House, Justice Okyere, condemned the Agric Ministry for its inability to settle an accumulated bill of GHS 82,220 being cost for using the facility. Justice Okyere said he rented 18 rooms to visitors and dignitaries for the celebration but payment had not been made to him. But members of the planning committee for the Farmers Day celebration on Tuesday met officials from the various hotels and made the payments. Justice Okyere confirmed to Adom News that government has now settled bills owed the facility in full.
