Friday August 10 has been declared a public holiday by the President John Dramani Mahama.
August 10 is the day the late President John Mills would be laid to rest in Accra.
It was confirmed on Thursday that the mortal remains of President Mills will be laid to rest in the area between the Castle Drive and the Marine Drive.
The Funeral of the late President has been scheduled for 8-10 August by the Funeral planning committee.
Meanwhile the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu has declared next Friday as a special Muslim prayer day for the late President. It follows a request by President John Mahama when the Chief Imam called on him at the Castle to commiserate with him on the passing of President Mills.
The National Chief Imam in a statement issued requested all Jummah Mosques across the country to offer a special prayer for the departed president.
