Latif Blessing has emerged as the early sole leader of the Ghana Premier League goal king standings after another prolific day at the office in Dansoman.
The former Blessing FC striker netted twice in the first half at the Carl Reindorf Park to haul the home side 2-1 in front after Berekum Chelsea had taken an early lead. The game ended 3-1.
It was the 18 year old's second brace of the season and took his tally to seven goals from eight matches.
It also makes him the front runner for the goal king title with his closest challengers Samuel Tetteh, Saddick Adams and Eric Bekoe all failing to hit target.
Bekoe did not score in Hasaacas 0-4 loss at Aduana, Adams was missing for Chelsea due to suspension while Tetteh endured a miserable day in Accra where he was sent off against WAFA after picking up two yellow cards against Hearts of Oak.
The biggest winner of the failure by the trio to score could be Aduana Stars forward Yahaya Mohammed who scored a hat trick in their 4-0 win over Hasaacas to take his season’s tally to four.
