Civil society group, Centre for National Affairs is seeking to stop forthwith Dr. Benjamin Kunbuor through a perpetual injunction from holding himself out as Attorney-General until a case against him at the Supreme Court is decided.
In 2010, Dr. Kunbuor, as Health Minister at the time, filed an official complaint to the police alleging there had been an attempt to assassinate him. But the group, based on documents it says it obtained from the police says the former A-G fabricated the entire episode.
The group, therefore, is in court to prove that as current A-G, Dr. Kunbuor will be unwilling to prosecute himself.
Senior Policy Analyst, Rocky Obeng tells Joy News the group is confident the court will rule in their favour.
“Since he is refusing to comment on the report, the documents and the evident that we have, the court will rule in our favour to restrain Dr Kunbuor from operating as an Attorney General until he has defended himself successfully in court.”
