Most Ugandans have heaved a sigh of relief upon receiving news, Black Stars Captain Asamoah Gyan and midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah will miss Ghana 's penultimate's 2015 Afcon qualifier against Uganda in Kampala.
Both are injured and Caretaker Coach Maxwell will be hoping to find the right attacking combination upfront with Jordan Ayew also suspended for the game.
Uganda will need a win to boost their chances of making next year's competition and renonwed Ugandan Sports journalist Andrew Oryada, who works for the Daily monitor in Kampala told Joy sports in exclusive chat that Ugandans have welcomed the news.
" The Ugandans don't seem to be very bothered about the absence of Asamoah Gyan and Kwadwo Asamoah because they feel that,any of the Ghanaian players fielded can still put up a good show. but there are quite a percentage of Ugandans who feel that the absence of Captain Asamoah Gyan is good news because even if he doesn't score his presence mans a lot for the team "he indicated
In Asamoah Gyan’s place, Black Stars caretaker coach, Maxwell Konadu has called up Emmanuel Osei Banahene who plays for Saudi Arabian side Al Orobah as Striker Jordan Ayew will miss the Uganda game due to suspension. The Cranes have stepped up preparations for the game and after their 3-0 win of Ethiopia in friendly Namboole and coupled with Ghana's key men missing Andrew Oryada hints the air of confidence is growing in Uganda.
"Especially after Uganda's 3-0 win over Ethiopia in an international build on Sunday, Ugandans team and especially the fans are confidence that come Saturday Ghana will lose "he added.
Meanwhile, the Black Stars have begun preparations in Accra and due in Kampala on Thursday November 13, for the AFCON 2015 group E clash.
