Black Stars defender Harrison Afful is counting the benefits of playing in the CAF Champions league despite missing out on the trophy.
TP Mazembe retained the title despite drawing with Esperance du Tunis 1-1 in the second leg of the final at November 7 Stadium on Saturday.
Esperance needed a miracle to overturn a 5-0 deficit to win the trophy for the first time after 1994.
Esperance scored first thanks to midfielder Harrison Afful's header after 23 minutes but Kanda Mukok equalized in the 69th minute to end the game 6-1 on aggregate.
Afful becomes the second Ghanaian in a row to miss out on the CAF Champions League after Aziz Ansah lost with Heartland of Nigeria to the same TP Mazembe side.
The Black Stars defender is saddened by the miss opportunity but said there are positives to pick from the competition.
He said despite the defeat, the experience has been invaluable.
