Ahead of a proposed date of September 21 for the start of the Ghana Premier League, Accra Hearts of Oak have completed a compulsory medical checks on its entire registered players ahead of the next football season.

The medical exercise saw the club’s first team side undergo systematic medicals under the supervision Dr. Bulley of the Ridge Hospital. The two day event ended on August 2.

This obligation comes as a result of a requirement by the Ghana FA to ensure that all registered players of the 16 participating clubs in the Ghana elite league are medically fit and ready to play active football before every season commences.

According to the club’s physiotherapist, James Commey believes the results of the medicals would give the medical team a good insight on the health status of each player ahead of the coming season.

 “The medicals will help us to know the health condition of every player here in our team. If players are hiding injuries it would all be revealed so we can deal with it before the league kicks off. I think it is best for every team to take their players through this exercise because at the end of it all it is the team that will benefit most and to avoid unexpected calamity”. He added
