At a young age, the majority of Ghanaians want to start small businesses with the goal of becoming their own bosses.
The Chief Executive Officer of Di Dwa Enterprise, Nana Akua Amoako, believes that integrity should be a major guiding principle for all business owners.
In an interview with Joy Prime's KMJ, on Wednesday, she stated that, aside from the God factor, integrity is what keeps her going.
"As a business owner, you have an image you are protecting, and integrity is one of the things that should guide every step you take," Mrs. Amoako said.
She later explained how she founded her business. She mentioned having the idea prior to COVID, but COVID provided the push she needed to get started.
"I wanted to start a business; I prayed about it, but the difference is that I wanted a business that was unique and would benefit everyone, especially women," she stated.
According to her, she began the business with a friend, so it was originally a two-man operation, but they have since grown in size.
Nana Akua Amoako added that she didn’t start the business with a fixed amount like others. She just started and added more money along the way. The CEO stated that she had friends and family who believed in the dream and gave her the push she needed in all aspects.
The Di Dwa Enterprise CEO further stated that loans scare her. So it was her private and family capital that was used. Currently because the business has improved, it is self-financing.
"There were fears, there are still fears, but it's similar to any other business, but you can't say that because of risk, fear, and challenges, you are not going to take a step," she advised.
Di Dwa Enterprise is a general online platform where people can order groceries and household items.
