JOY Prime has rolled out the revamped second season of its entertainment and lifestyle programme, Prime Time, hosted by celebrated media personality George Quaye.

The refreshed edition of the show introduces new segments and a refined structure aimed at deepening audience engagement, spotlighting emerging talents and delivering compelling conversations with influential personalities across entertainment, sports and community leadership.

Producers say the new season is designed to strengthen the programme’s position as a vibrant platform that celebrates creativity, culture and community voices while maintaining an energetic and interactive format.

The show opens with Music Jam, a five-minute high-energy segment led by the popular DJ Merqury Quaye, who sets the tone for each episode with a carefully curated mix of current hits and timeless classics aligned with the day’s theme.

This is followed by Intro + Scoop, a quick rundown of the latest happenings in entertainment, lifestyle and tourism. The five-minute segment keeps viewers up to date on trending stories and developments within the creative and cultural space.
Another major feature of the programme is the Rising Star Interview, a 15-minute segment dedicated to spotlighting emerging talents within communities. Through this platform, budding artistes and creatives share their journeys, discuss their craft and outline their aspirations.
At the centre of the programme is the Main Interview Feature, a 45-minute in-depth conversation with a notable personality. Guests on the show range from musicians and sports icons to thought leaders and community trailblazers. These conversations are conducted through a mix of studio interviews, virtual discussions and street-style segments designed to highlight the guest’s story, influence and personality.
To inject a fun and competitive element into the programme, the show also includes Games, Puzzle and Quiz Sessions with guests. These segments are designed to produce memorable moments as guests attempt to outperform previous personalities who have appeared on the show.
On episodes without a headline guest, the programme maintains its energy through debates and discussions on trending topics, involving both guests and audience members.
Lead Producer Lawrence Nartey Kornor, who doubles as the Programmes Coordinator of Joy Prime, explained that this format reinforces the show’s identity as a community-driven platform where the conversation does not depend solely on celebrity appearances.
The programme also features Community Interactivity, where viewer messages and vox pop interviews are incorporated to amplify audience voices and strengthen the show’s connection with its viewers.
With its refreshed format and expanded interactive elements, the new season of Prime Time aims to deliver a dynamic mix of music, storytelling, entertainment and audience participation as George Quaye leads the conversation on JOY Prime.
Some of the notable names and public figures who have shared stories on Prime Time include the following:
