Coach Silas Tetteh has revealed that former U-20 midfielder Ishmael Yartey has rendered an apology to him over bribery allegations the player leveled against him ahead of the 2009 World Youth Championship in Egypt.
The Coach who spoke on the Joy Sports Link Saturday, said " He called after I came back from Rwanda... as a matter of fact he sent some few people to come and meet me and say sorry".
The player who now plays for French Ligue 1 side Sochaux, launched a blistering attack on Ghana’s U-20 coach, Sellas Tetteh in 2009.
He claimed the Coach took bribes before naming the final squad a week to the World Youth Championship.
He claimed even though many of players were in the squad on merit, those on the periphery were in the squad because of their powerful connections to the coach.
Four years on, the Coach popularly known as "Borbor" reminisced and said the utterances came from "a frustrated player who felt he had to make the team and he couldn't and he went destroying the hand that fed him".
When asked if he would like to work with the repentant midfielder again, the coach responded that "If he would win for me, why should I refuse?"
Coach Silas Tetteh's U-20 team has returned from a successful campaign at the 2013 Africa U-20 Youth Championship in Algeria where the Black Satellites won silver.
