Berekum Chelsea Head Coach Hans Vander Pluym says they still have a chance of making it to the semi finals of the CAF Champions league despite suffering a massive set-back in at the Accra stadium on Sunday
The Berekum based side managed for a 1-1 draw against Egyptian side Al Ahly at the Accra Sports stadium after missing a lot of goal scoring opportunities.
Ahly were the better side in the first half as they dominated play which resulted in their goal in the 42nd minute. Chelsea Midfielder Jordan Opoku pulled level in the 51st minute after controlling a cross from teammate Solomon Asante to blast home the equalizer from about 15 yards.
“It is not over until it is over. I believe luck was simply not on our side and that why we couldn’t pick the maximum points. Coach Pluym told JOY Sports
“We still have chance to progress and so we’re not perturbed at all. Like I said we were just unlucky and so we’ll see how it goes,”
The Ghanaian side now has to win their last two matches involving another Egyptian side Zamalek and TP Mazembe of Congo before they can book a semi final berth.
