Some grassroots supporters of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Upper West region are demanding the removal of the District Chief Executive (DCE) of Jirapa, Vivien Nelly Kunko.
The supporters have accused Madam Kunko of being insensitive to their needs and failing to perform her role as DCE.
Speaking to Joy News' Upper West Regional correspondent Rafiq Salam, they alleged that investigations reveal that over 2,000 Ghana Cedis, meant to pay caterers of the school feeding programme in the region, have been diverted into separate accounts and shared amongst sympathisers of Madam Kunko.
The supporters say they have gathered evidence which indicates that the DCE has been giving contracts to some undeserving contractors in the community.
They are, therefore, calling on President John Mahama to immediately remove the DCE from office.
However, some leaders of the NDC headed by the Regional Chairman, Alhaji Saako Malik have been able to calm the nerves of the demonstrators and promised to address issues.
