Ghana and Marseille striker Jordan Ayew has won the best goal award in the French League Cup this season.
The 20-year-old’s goal in the quarter-final of the competition against Lens in October got the highest number of votes from fans.
Ayew will be handed the award before Saturday’s final after edging past Lyon’s Alexander Lacazette, who scored against Lorient in the semi-finals.
The son of legend Abedi Pele got 4526 votes while Lacazette could only manage 3418.
Ayew received a pass in the opponent’s area, outwitted one defender, raced to the edge of the box with three defenders approaching, before firing an unstoppable shot into the top corner.
These first two goals in the voting will be broadcast on giant screens at the Stade de France, during the pre-final match between Marseille and Lyon.
