The 2010 Easter Soup Kitchen organised by Joy 99.7 FM is currently underway at the Efua Sutherland Children’s Park.
Over 15,000 of the less privileged will be feted, clothed and given medical care at the event which is in its 14th year.
The Easter Soup Kitchen is part of the station’s corporate social responsibility to the underprivileged in society.
Organisers say sponsorship and donations for this year’s programme have significantly improved.
Chairman of the Soup Kitchen Planning Committee, Max Fuga, says so far everything is going according to plan.
Several bales of clothe as well as food items, toiletries and medicine have been donated by listeners of Joy FM and philanthropists to make the event a success.
The Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana, partners for the event will be screening the thousands of people who are vulnerable to diseases such as malaria and typhoid. Treatment will be given to them immediately.
