Trouble is brewing at KEEA in the wake of an alleged assault on Dr. Cadman Mills, the younger brother of the late president, and the incumbent MP for the area, Dr. Jospeh Samuel Annan. The assault took place during a visit by President John Mahama to Elmina.
People at the rally swarmed Nana Kobina Gyan Square in Elmina, where they hooted at the parliamentary candidate and prevented the president from endorsing him.
Annan’s camp held a news conference Friday calling for the dismissal of all constituency executives and for sanctions against Regional Executives of the party, who he accused of masterminding the assault.
Yakubu Ennum, the party’s Constituency Secretary, said in a news conference on Friday that the attack was planned in the office of the MCE in support of independent candidate Dr. Ato Quarshie.
Ennum named a certain Francis Ayittey and one Sariki from the Elmina Zongo in the KEEA constituency as those who led the assault.
He said that the two allegedly bused people from Morree to launch the attack in front of President Mahama.
