Evidence adduced by the Volta River Authority (VRA) at the Fast Track High Court (FTC) against its former Chief Executive, Dr. Charles Yves Wereko-Brobbey over the latter's ex-gratia award came to an apex yesterday, when an attempted opening of a Pandora's box was halted by the presiding judge.
The court, presided over by Justice K.A. Acquaye eventually saved the face of Dr. Wereko-Brobbey, who was present in court, when counsel for VRA, Mr. F.K. Yeboah tried to expose the former VRA Chief Executive by pointing out his misdeeds during the less than two years reign at the establishment.
Mr. Yeboah was challenged through an examination-in-chief of the Principal Administrative Officer in-charge of Industrial Relations of VRA, Mr. Joseph Nii Torgbor Annan to point out instances that showed that 'Tarzan's' reign as Chief Executive of the authority was not exemplary.
The presiding judge then ordered Counsel for VRA to discontinue his line of questioning after an objection was raised by counsel for the former Chief Executive of the energy generating company, Mr. Akoto Ampau, to the fact that the defendant company had not pleaded the issues it sought to raise in its evidence before the court.
