The Kenyan business community is seeking to improve ties with Ghana through exhibitions to build on links the two governments have crafted.
Through Kenya Trade Expo Ghana, the business community has engaged with Ghana investment promotion centre to match potential investors with partners in the West African country.
“Back in 2014, seven financial agreements were signed between Kenya and Ghana. These bilateral agreements were established to enhance trade relationship between Ghana, the gateway to West Africa and Kenya, the gateway to East Africa,” said Leah Nduati Lee, co-founder Kenya Trade Expo Ghana.
Ms Lee said Ghana offers an entry into the larger Economic Community of West African States (Ecowas) market which has an estimated population of over 349 million people.
“Our vision is to see Africa united through trade, and having done the first Kenya Trade Expo in Ghana in November 2015, some of the challenges we saw included lack of information on bilateral agreements, high trade tariffs and expensive trade routes, things we are trying to address,” she said.
The business community is organising another trade expo to be held in Accra, Ghana between November 1st and 4th.
