Nuode Mensah, a driver, who knocked down a mate and killed him instantly, has been granted bail in the sum of GH¢5,000 by a magistrate’s court at Akim Oda.
Mensah, 54, whose plea was not taken, would re-appear on September 25. The case docket has been sent to the Attorney General’s Department for advice.
Police Chief Inspector Patience Nyame Darko said on June 16, Mensah was driving a truck with six passengers, including his mate, Kwaku Gyan, 19.
She said at a point near the Atweaman Senior High School at Akim Manso, Gyan got down from the vehicle to take a sack containing food stuff that had dropped from the truck.
But Mensah reversed the truck and knocked down his mate, killing him instantly.
