Suspended Deputy General Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kofi Adams has dismissed a month long extension of his suspension by party executives, saying the action amounts to abuse of power.
The party’s Functional Executive Committee (FEC) - in a letter to Kofi Adams - stated that it had extended the suspension.
Mr Adams was suspended after a controversial leaked tape with a voice purported to be his was heard saying he will do everything possible to prevent President Mills from securing a second term in the December polls.
His reinstatement was dependent on the results of investigations being conducted on the matter by the party’s disciplinary committee.
However Mr Adams told Joy News the committee has done very little since it was tasked to look into the matter.
“…if [within] 90-days they (the executive committee) couldn’t do the work, even if you give them 10-years they can still not do it,” he claimed.
Mr Adams maintained that the committee cannot prove anything against him “because how can you investigate without inviting me? What are you going to investigate?”
Meanwhile party executives have declined comment on the matter for now.
