Oil firm Kosmos Energy is said to have been involved in yet another toxic mud spill.
The incident according to officials of the Ministry of Science and Environment happened about ten days ago. This will be the third such spill.
The company is already being investigated for two other incidents in December last year and March this year involving 591 barrels of low toxicity oil-based-mud.
The investigative committee was originally given a month to conclude its findings, but Joy Business sources say the latest spill has forced an extension of the duration.
A team dispatched by the Environment Ministry to the scene of the spill over the weekend is yet to report on its findings and Kosmos is yet to comment.
