The Chief Executive Officer of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Dr. K.K Sarpong believes the first round of the premier league for Kotoko was a nightmare as the team failed to live up to its name.
According to Dr. Sarpong, things turned out very badly for the team in the first round as supporters and well wishers of the club continuously expressed their displeasure at the performance of the team.
Speaking on Asempa FM’s Sports Morning Show on Wednesday, Dr. Sarpong appealed to fans of the club to stay calm and keep supporting them since measures have been put in place to get the club back on track when the second round begins.
He said management had recruited fourteen new players and are preparing to offload 12 players due to their poor quality and skills.
Dr. Sarpong announced that, the players recruited by the club will be outdoored at the Baba Yara stadium in Kumasi on Sunday when Kotoko play host to Ashgold in a friendly encounter.
He called on the fans to be there in their numbers to cheer the club because he believes the team is going to put up a performance contrary to that of the first round.
