Bogdan Korak's start as Asante Kotoko coach got off to a wrong start as the Porcupine Warriors were beaten 2-1 by New Edubiase at the Baba Yara Stadium.
The Serbian now sees his struggling side record their fourth consecutive league defeat.
Kotoko had already lost to King Faisal, Hearts of Oak and Aduana Stars, all on the run leading to Sunday's game as many had hoped the Serbian could halt their poor run and provide a major lift. But they failed.
Fuseini Nuhu's brace before the opening 36 minutes put the visitors in the lead going into the break.
The second half brought out some urgency in Kotoko as they earned a penalty after Samad Oppon was pushed in the box allowing for Nii Adjei to score from the spot. However, Kotoko laboured to force a draw level as Edubiase run away with the big win.
There was no better news for another traditional giant, Hearts of Oak who were beaten by newcomers, Mighty Jets 1-0 at the Ohene Djan Stadium.
Aaron Amoah scored from a solo effort as the defeat was the Phobian's second on the run after last weekend's loss to Liberty Professionals at the same grounds.
Chelsea lost 3-1 to Ebusua Dwarfs at the Robert Mensah Stadium but still maintain their position at the top of the table.
The home side scored through Seidu Bansi, Michael Ensaiadu and Bismark Aseidu before Abdul Basit pulled one back for the leaders in the second half.
Close contenders, Kessben FC could not take advantage of Chelsea's situation as they were also beaten by Berekum Arsenals, 2-0, at the Golden City Park.
Francis Aggrey and Nana Poku scored both goals for the Gunners and the result sees Kessben slip to third on the standings.
All Stars moved to second on the table after thrashing B.A. Stars 3-1 at the Wa Park.
A brace by Nathaniel Asamoah and a third from substitute Mohammed Fatau gave the Blues a 3-0 lead before Oscar Amponsah got the consolation for the newly promoted side.
Liberty Professionals and Aduana Stars shared the spoils in their goalless draw game at the Carl Reindorf Park.
AshantiGold and King Faisal would play in a late kick off clash at the Len Clay Stadium.
But there was no action at the Kpando Park as the rains rendered the pitch soggy forcing the game between Heart of Lions and Real Tamale United to be rescheduled for Monday.
