Managing Editor of the Insight Newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr. is questioning why former President John Agyekum Kufuor did not invite Founder and General Overseer of the Christian Action Faith Ministries (CAFM), Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams, to an NPP mediation meeting.
According to him, once the former President invited some highly placed religious leaders in the country in an attempt to resolve the confusion within the party he expected him to have invited Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams to the meeting.
Kwasi Pratt was speaking Thursday on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem morning show with host Captain Smart.
Founder of the International Central Gospel Church Dr. Mensa Otabil, Moderator of the Presby church Rev. Prof Emmanuel Martey, the Catholic Archbishop of the Accra Diocese Rev. Father Palmer-Buckle were part of selected individuals who attended the meeting.
The 2016 flagbearer of NPP, Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo, and his running mate Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia were also at the meeting.
NPP’s National Chairman, Paul Afoko, General Secretary, Kwabena Agyapong and other leaders of the party were at the meeting aimed at fostering unity in the party.
The meeting was held to address the confusion within the party which party faithfulness say could impede the NPP bid to win power in 2016.
The meeting organized by former President Kufuor has created a lot of controversy in the media and among the general public with some suggesting the religious leaders invited to mediate were in bed with the NPP.
However, spokesperson for the former President, Frank Agyekum, has said that suggestion is wrong.
