Former President John Agyekum Kufuor arrived back home Friday night after a
three-day visit to Pretoria, South Africa, at the invitation of Dr Nkosazona
Dlamamini-Zuma, newly elected Chairperson of the African Union Commission
(AUC) to discuss ways of strengthening African solidarity.
Former President Kufuor, was among six members of the African Forum, an
association of former African heads of state, who conferred with
Dr Dlamini-Zuma on revitilizing the spirit of Pan-Africans and
consolidating African solidarity.
A statement issued by the spokesperson of the former President Frank Agyekum said the meeting also discussed the adoption of a new roadmap for the
reconstruction and development of the continent.
The group was later received in audience by South African President Jacob Zuma at Presidential residence at Mahlamba Ndloptu in Pretoria.
Among former African heads of state attending the meeting were Joaquim
Chicassano of Mozambique and Chairperson of the African Forum, Elson Muluzi of Malawi, Ali Hassan Mwinyi of Tanzania, Kenneth Kaunda of Zambia, Karl August Offman of Mauritius and Pedro Rodriguez Pirez of Cape Verde Island.
