The Managing Director of GOIL Company Limited has said the cylinder re-circulation station in Kumasi will be completed in October this year.
According to Kwame Osei Prempeh, the construction works have started and it would take eight months for the about 10, 000 metric tonne capacity plant to complete for operation.
"We are hoping that next year by this time the station will be in operation," Mr Prempeh said.
On October 7, 2017, a gas explosion at the Atomic Junction in Accra claimed 7 lives and left some 132 others with various degrees of injury. More than 25 vehicles were also burnt beyond repair with other property that were destroyed that night.
Managing Director of GOIL was of the view that the decision to construct two stations (Tema and Kumasi) was timely and geared towards averting similar disaster in the future.

He also revealed that a bitumen project is also underway at Tema to provide quality bitumen for asphalt roads in the country.
At Goil Efie Ne Fie Promotion 35 customers received fuel coupons worth ¢300 to ¢1,000, depending on accrued points.
Overall, 50 customers will receive ¢1,000 worth of fuel, 250 others will get ¢500 while another 500 drivers will be rewarded with ¢800 worth the same.
Mr Osei Prempeh, said the promo is to appreciate the loyalty of customers.
