Highlife musician, Akwasi Opoku popularly known in ShowBiz Kwaisey Pee, believes Samuel Sukah’s penalty he awarded Hearts of Oak in their Super 2 clash against Kotoko was a wrong call.
The “Mehia Odio” hit maker made this call on Ladies Time on Asempa FM as the Adorable Personality of the week.
In his view, the decision was clearly a harsh one with the ball hitting the back of Ahmed Adams.
This was after he declared his love for the Porcupine Warriors.
“Growing up, I always wanted to be a footballer but many people don’t believe when I say that.
“My father thought I was going to be footballer because I spent all my time playing football at school.
“I support Kotoko when it comes to the Ghana Premier League and support Chelsea when it comes to European football.
“I watched Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko match and the penalty awarded by the referee was totally not a penalty. The defender wanted to protect the ball from entering the net and the ball clearly hit his back.
“With the videos that I have seen even after the match, it was clear that the ball did not hit the player’s hand and I don’t agree with the decision of the GFA to clear him.
He was however not surprised with the decision considering the trend of officiating on the continent.
“We know that when it comes to Africa football, we know there is no truth in it so I am not surprised with the decision. I don’t have anything against Hearts of Oak but I simply love Kotoko.
Kwaisey Pee was born to legendary highlife musician Agyeiku, and has been tipped to fill the shoes of his late father having won many awards.
