Black Stars midfielder Laryea Kingston has apologized to the Deputy Sports Minister Nii Nortey Dua over an altercation with his (Laryea’s) mother.
His mother allegedly rained insults on the Deputy Minister after Kingston was dropped from the 23 man squad named for the South Africa 2010.
Speaking to Joy Sports, the Deputy Sports Minister said he was called by Kingston from his base in Scotland to issue an unqualified apology to him.
Nii Nortey Dua, who is also the Member of Parliament for the Ledzorkuku Constituency explained the incident was part of occupational hazards he has had to grapple with.
"I have long forgotten about it even before the call came," he said.
Kingston grew up in the constituency until he began his professional football career outside the country.
