Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf on Friday morning arrived in Accra for a two-day state visit to Ghana.
The plane carrying the 72-year-old President Sirleaf touched down at the Kotoka International Airport at 0910 hours and was received by President John Evans Atta Mills.
A guard of honour was mounted by a detachment of the Ghana Armed Forces.
After the national anthems of both countries were played, followed by the 21 gun salute in the background, the two leaders exchanged pleasantries.
President Sirleaf is expected to hold bilateral talks with President Mills at the Osu Castle after which a joint communiqué would be issued.
She would be hosted to a luncheon at the Banquet Hall of the State House, visit the University of Ghana, Legon and deliver a lecture on the economic situation in the West African sub-region and beyond.
On her second day, President Sirleaf would lay a wreath at Burma Camp in Accra and attend Liberia Business Day at the Accra International Conference Centre.
This is the second time the Liberian leader is visiting Ghana since President Mills assumed office in 2009.
The first was a stop over in Accra last year, when she was attending a conference in Qatar.
Her recent visit is expected to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.
