JOYNEWS has learned of some changes which have been made at the top hierarchy of the Ghana Police Service.
Although there is no formal statement announcing the changes, reliable sources say the changes are at two main units of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Special Duties.
They are:
1. Director General Police Criminal Investigative Department (CID), COP Prosper Agblor is now Director General Special Duties
2. Director General Welfare, DCOP Bright Oduro, takes over from COP Prosper Agblor as Director General Criminal Investigative Department
3. ACP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo Danquah, Deputy Director General Intelligence and Professional Standards (PIPS) Bureau is now Deputy Director General Criminal Investigative Department (she takes over from Deputy Director CID, ACP Deniss Abade who is now deputy Special Duties).
It is unclear for now who takes over as Deputy Director General of PIPS.
DCOP Nana Osabarima Pinkro held that position as Director General Special duties, but for now, it is unclear where he his headed as special duties are determined by assignments from the Inspector General of Police.
