Eagles opponents want visas processed in Malawi.After failing in their protest to FIFA to have the match venue of their World Cup qualifier against Nigeria moved from Calabar, Malawi are brewing fresh controversy. The Football Association of Malawi (FAM) now wants visas for the Flames to be processed by the Nigeria High Commission ahead of their trip to Calabar for their decisive 2014 World Cup qualifier, instead of the normal process of getting the visas at the pint of entry, The Nation Online of Malawi reports. The Malawi national team had earlier written to FIFA urging a change of venue from Calabar to Abuja or even outside Nigeria, citing inadequate security and a lack of good hotels in Calabar as reasons for asking for a change in venue. FAM chief executive officer Suzgo Nyirenda said they are not leaving anything to chance to avoid being caught off-guard in the West African country. “They could play some funny games just to frustrate us such as detaining us at the airport for hours. “And to avoid such predicament, we are working hard that our visas should be processed here,” said Nyirenda. The FAM CEO also said apart from Esau Kanyenda who is reportedly recovering from an injury, the others—Joseph Kamwendo, Robert Ng’ambi, Chiukepo Msowoya and Foster Namwela—will be available for selection. “According to the documents that Esau’s club [Polokwane City] sent us, he was given two weeks before he could bounce back and that means he should resume training early next month which will be the week leading to the game and, therefore, the coach will have to make a determination upon assessing the situation. “We also have confirmations from Chiukepo, Robert and Foster, but the coach will have to decide whether they should be called for the match,” said Nyirenda. The FAM CEO said logistics for the trip will be finalised within the week. “We have to find out how much [funding] is remaining from our allocation and then plan for the trip,” said Nyiren
