Students of the Mampong Midwifery Training School who are re-siting their exams for this year have apologized to the Principal, Lydia Yamoah, after accusing her of refusing to allow them to take the exams. The students, who sat for their final exams in August, last year, claimed the principal had informed them they would not be allowed to re-write the referred papers because they did not pay fees for one full academic year. The publication was carried under the headline, “Mampong Student Nurses Sue Principal over Exams”.Some of the students who spoke to several media platforms stated though Mrs. Yamoah had registered them, she had denied them tuition and residence on campus. But in a statement signed by one of the students, Agnes Quarshie, on behalf of all re-sit candidates (DM5), the students noted the allegations were unfounded and without basis.“We would want the public to know that the publication made by us (DM5) which were aired on several media houses were unfounded and have no basis”, it stated. “We therefore entreat the public to disregard, in its entirety, the publication referenced above”.“We further apologize to the Governing Board, Principal, Tutors, Students, Nurses and Midwifery Council, Government and the general public for any inconvenience caused”.The statement noted the decision represents the sole and entire decision of all the re-sit candidates (DM5) of Midwifery/HAC Training School, Mampong Ashanti.
