A young man identified as Rasheed Musa, believed to be in his middle twenties, was on the dawn of Monday butchered to death by some unknown assailants at Ahinsan Bedieso in Kumasi.
Three other people who were also suspected to have been assaulted by the same assailants and received various cutlass wounds are receiving treatment at the hospital.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) David Gyabaa, Asokwa District Crime Officer, told the Ghana News Agency that the body of the deceased who is said to be a former resident of the area had since been deposited at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital morgue.
He said the incident occurred at about 1230 hours and that when the police was hinted of the incident and detailed men to the scene the deceased who had cutlass wounds all over his body was found lying in a pool of blood.
DSP Gyabaa said preliminary investigations indicated that the assault was purported to have been carried out by two cutlass-wielding men whose reasons are not yet known.
He appealed to residents of Ahinsan to help the Police with the investigations to track down the suspects.
