More than thirty houses have been destroyed by tidal waves in three communities in the Keta Municipality in the Volta Region.The waves reportedly hit Dzita, Anyanui and Whuti communities last Friday.Many residents, most of whom are peasant farmers, lost their plantations as well.Isreal Abostivia who works with Jubilee Radio in Keta told Joy News that officials of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) are putting measures in place to ameliorate the suffering of the affected people.Municipal NADMO coordinator, Alex Atakpa said the communities encounter this problem every year but maintained the waves were stronger this time round.He said the situation was being assessed to provide relief items for affected residents.
