Marcel Desailly is favourite to be named Black Stars Coach after analyzing a long list of personalities considered for the post including assistant Kwasi Appiah according to the Football Association.
The Ghana Football Association has held talks with the Ghanaian born former France Captain already with the view of him taking charge of the team with work scheduled to start on May 1.
JOY Sports close sources within the Ghana Football Association explains the body is still discussing few details with the 43 year old before he takes over his first coaching job since retiring from the French National team in 2004.
JOY Sports understands there are few issues regarding commitment and remuneration that have to be clarified by close of next week before the confirmation of the appointment.
The Ghana Football Association is also quick to point out Marcel Desailly remains the front runner but could be overlooked for the other options on the list of coaches primed for the job.
Marcel Desailly pushed for the job before Goran Stevanovic’s appointment in January of 2011 but was unsuccessful and later claimed he was unfairly treated after being promised the role.
The ex Marseille and AC Milan star has a coaching license but will have his first managerial experience if he is confirmed next week.
