The Managing Director of Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB), Simon Dornoo has been elected as new President of Ghana Association of Bankers.
The election took place at the Annual General Meeting of the Ghana Association Bankers on Thursday August 16.
He takes over from MD of HFC bank Asare Akuffo who has led the association for over two years.
Speaking to Joy Business, Mr. Dornoo indicated that he will strive to enhance the finance stability and growth of banks.
"At this particular point in time where the economy is growing and the regulatory environment is changing very fast, we need to actually work very closely with the policy markers to ensure that we can shape and influence policy to improve prescience of the banking sector," he added.
