Divine Torku, a 40-year-old mentally challenged man has allegedly killed Mr. Hope Kudzo Dentey, a 60-year old farmer at Dodi-Papase in the Kadjebi District of the Oti Region with machete.
The incident, which occurred on Monday, August 12, has thrown the entire community into mourning and disbelief.
When the Ghana News Agency (GNA) contacted Superintendent of Police, Frank Nana Asomaning, the Kadjebi District Police Commander on the incident, he confirmed it and said the suspect was arrested and placed in Police custody same day.
He said the suspect would be arraigned soon.
The deceased's body has been deposited at the St. Theresa Catholic Hospital, Dodi-Papase for further investigation.
