Hajia Alima Mahama, Minister of Women and Children's Affairs on Sunday said Ghanaian women entrepreneurs should not only acquire skills but be creative and innovative to compete with their counterparts in the world.
She said it was ideal most young Ghanaian women were making efforts to acquire entrepreneurial skills but noted that only those with creative and innovative minds would succeed in the global world.
Hajia Mahama made the call in a speech read on her behalf at the sixth graduation of 2nd Image Hair and Beauty Therapy Academy in Accra under the theme, "Empowering to Succeed".
The academy was established about 20 years ago.
Ninety graduated beauty and hair specialists were presented with certificates, diplomas and advanced diplomas.
Hajia Mahama stressed the need for people to continue to broaden their horizon by exploring new trends in the beauty and hair industry so as to meet challenges.
She advised the graduands to be disciplined, ensure client satisfaction, good communication and interpersonal skills that were vital for the success of any business.
Ms Nikki Boa-Amponsem, Principal of the Academy, stressed the need for Government to encourage vocational training in the country.
She noted that formal education in vocational training was crucial since theoretical knowledge preceded practical lessons.
