The Police at Akwatia in the Eastern Region have detained a 36-year-old man over the possession of three guns during a snap check at Staff Village, Boadua in the region.
Stephen Nkansah, a mourner, was nabbed during a search on his Toyota Tundra Pickup, which was heading from Asamankese to Boadua with five other mourners on board.
Two of the three guns retrieved from the vehicle are a Pardus pump-action gun and a Hulglu pump-action gun.
Nkansah, during interrogation, told the police that two of the guns belonged to him and the other belonged to his “chief.”
According to Nkansah, they were on their way to a funeral at Akyim Tayiman.
Police say Nkansah has been detained for further investigations.
