Mubarak Wakaso has explained why the Black Stars employed aggressive tactics especially in the first half of their 2-0 win against Mauritius on Sunday.
The victory ensured the player and his teammates have booked a ticket to the 2017 African Cup of Nations.
In the first half, Ghana played with a frenetic, almost nervous pace, leaving fans wondering why the Black Stars employed that style.
"We wanted to kill off the game in the first-half. To kill the animal you have to sever off the head," he told Happy FM after the game.
The Black Stars dominated play and harangued their opponents in Port Louis, but jittery finishing and nervy final balls characterized their end product.
"We dominated and we are happy for the two goals and the qualification," he said, having been paired with Afriyie Acquah in central midfield.
But it was only after 70 minutes that Ghana truly came into their own, with goals from Andre Ayew and Christian Atsu.
