The Director-General of the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NaCCA), Prof Samuel Ofori, has announced that the Council is developing a dedicated mobile application designed to grant parents and guardians direct access to their wards’ academic performance.
Speaking on a recent episode of EduTalk, aired on JoyNews, Prof Ofori explained that the innovation aims to streamline communication between schools and families, ensuring that academic updates are delivered with greater efficiency and transparency.
"These days, as much as possible, we want to integrate digital tools into our curriculum, so there is another App that is coming up that will also enable parents, while they sit at home log in to the app and be able to track the performance of their worlds.
"These are all coming up, and as they come up, we will educate parents on how to go about using those apps to help their children to learn to become better," he said.
According to him, the application, once completed and fully deployed, will be rolled out across all secondary schools nationwide.
It is expected to replace the long-standing system of sending students’ reports via email or through the post, marking a significant digital shift in the country’s education management framework.
He also disclosed that the Council is developing a similar App for teachers and "it is on trial now, we call it subject subject-specific App, that will enable the teachers to go and plan their lessons with the assistance of the App."

Professor Ofori noted that the initiative forms part of NaCCA’s broader strategy to modernise curriculum monitoring and enhance stakeholder engagement, ultimately strengthening accountability and learning outcomes across Ghana’s education ecosystem.
