Two contestants in the Hohoe parliamentary primaries of the ruling National Democratic Congress fear that the biometric voters register to be used for the polls November 21 may have been compromised.

The two contestants in the Votal regional constituency, a Conflict Resolution expert Dr. Ken Ahorsu and an Engineer Mr. Theophilus Dzimegah say the constituency executives are trying to register known supporters of the incumbent although the deadline for the exercise expired on August 31.

These maneuverings, they claim is to give the incumbent MP and Deputy Minister of Technology, Science and Innovation, Dr. Bernice Adiku Helloo, an unfair advantage.

‘’Yesterday, we were in Akpafu Adorkor and Akpafu Sokpo and at Akpafu Sokpo.We saw a lady who was still registering and we took the serial numbers of the card. When we were back in Hohoe, we were told that [registration] was going on in Kpeme, it was still going on in Abansi’’, one of the aspirants, Dr. Ken Ahorsu alleged.

He said they have drawn the attention of the Director of Elections in Constituency to the allegations.

‘’We in fact reported the Adorkor one to Mr. Amegee who is the Head of the Elections Unit of the constituency and he went there and seized the booklets and I understand that he went to Abansi also to seize the booklet.

“We were told that this was being organized by the secretary to the incumbent MP. The question then is that, though these booklets have been seized, who supplied it to them’’, he queried.

‘’We were all told that the registration has long seized so who authorized these people and how much of these have entered the system or is about to enter the system?’’.

Director of Elections at the NDC Hohoe Constituency, Mr. Charles Amegee, confirmed retrieving a registration booklet with a serial number range of between 2481751 and 2481775, from Dela in Akpafu Adorkor whom he says is not authorized to register members.

However, he was quick to add that the said registration booklet was not being used for a registration exercise.
